What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resource Room Coordinator- 25/26 School Year position at Warsaw Community Schools?
Reports to
: Principal
General Summary
: The Resource Room Coordinator facilitates the resource room classroom for students with an IEP, assists with academic needs, keeps accurate records pertaining to grades, credits, and remediation activities, and supports paraprofessionals who service students in the resource program.
Essential Responsibilities:
Supervise students enrolled in the Resource Room.
Create the proper quiet study atmosphere for Study Hall.
Perform record keeping as required (i.e. maintains files of each student assigned, maintain attendance and tardiness records, creates weekly lists of students with failing grades, records student’s remediation efforts) and shares with Teacher of Record.
Assist with the disciplinary process by enforcing rules.
Assist other support staff with clerical duties as needed or requested.
Hold weekly meetings with support staff to improve communication between support staff and the content areas they supporting.
Assist staff with ideas for supporting teachers and identifying ways to implement identified IEP accommodations.
Perform other reasonably-related duties assigned by the Principal
Qualifications:
Education
– Preferred-Bachelor’s Degree. Required 48 college credits or ability to pass the ParaPro Test
Experience
-
Evidence of experience working with students
Experience with working on computer systems and Microsoft office products
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong follow through on tasks and follow up on individual student needs.
Length of Employment per Academic Year:
180 days
