What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spanish Building Substitute Teacher - 25-26 SY position at Warsaw Community Schools?
Reports to : Building Principal at Eisenhower and Leesburg
General Summary : In the absence of regular classroom teacher to help students to learn subject matter and / or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms.
Essential Functions :
- Carry out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives as indicated in the lesson plans
- Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Take attendance in accordance with school procedures (we are available to assist)
- Indicate to students the basic expectations for behavior in the class in accordance with WCS policies
- Know emergency evacuation routes for classroom assigned (we are available to assist)
- Know procedures for referring students who are disciplinary problems (we are available to assist)
- May perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as bus duty, hall monitoring or other duties assigned by building principal
Qualifications :
Length of Contract : 5 days per week; position will shared between Eisenhower and Leesburg
Position Type : Non-Exempt
