ELEMENTARY TEACHER
Reports to: Building Principal General Summary: An elementary teacher provides students with educational instruction that fosters and accelerates their intellectual, physical, social, and career development in accordance with district policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:
- Maintain clear and up-to-date written lesson plans. Able to show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
- Commit to Professional Learning Communities for school improvement.
- Conduct assigned activities from the administration, in conformity with the approved policies of the Board of Education and State and Federal Law.
- Promote continued student learning by creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Make effective use of planning time. Observe designed working hours per the job assignment and uniqueness of each assignment.
- Employ a variety of instructional techniques, technology, and instructional media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Develop reasonable procedures and rules of behavior in the classroom and maintain order in a fair and just manner.
- Participate cooperatively with the principal in performance evaluations as stated in the district's policies and procedures.
- Support and implement strategies that enhance student performance on local, state, and federal assessments.
- Perform other duties as assigned at the request of the superintendent, superintendent designee, or principal.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.
- Education - Bachelor's Degree (minimum)
- Certification or Licensure - Valid Indiana Teaching License.
- Experience - Evidence of success as a highly effective classroom teacher.
- Knowledge - Understanding of collaborative learning teams and effective instructional practices, standards, formative and summative assessments, and ways to analyze data.
