What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gymnastics Instructor position at Warwick Dance and Gymnastics Academy?
A gymnastics coach is responsible for teaching and coaching athletes in the art of gymnastics. They play a crucial role in helping athletes reach their full potential through developing skills, creating training plans, and providing feedback and support.
Responsibilities:
- Design training plans that focus on building strength, flexibility, and skill progression
- Teach proper techniques for all gymnastics disciplines including vault, bars, beam and floor exercise
- Assist athletes in setting and achieving individual goals
- Provide regular feedback and encouragement to athletes
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective strategies
- Maintain a safe training environment and ensure that all equipment is properly used and maintained
- Possibly of attending competitions and provide support and coaching to athletes during meets
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other coaches
- Oversee our recreational gymnastics program and pre-team athletes
Qualifications:
- Experience as a competitive gymnast or gymnastics coach
- Strong knowledge of gymnastics techniques and training methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create and implement effective training plans
- Certification in gymnastics coaching is preferred, but not required
