Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles, particularly Hip Hop and jazz, and possess the ability to engage and inspire students of all ages. This role involves teaching dance techniques, fostering creativity, and promoting a love for movement in a supportive and fun environment. Our Dance Instructor will also play a vital role in the development of our students' skills while ensuring a safe and positive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to different skill levels and age groups.
- Teach various dance styles with an emphasis on Ballet, while also incorporating elements of other dance forms as appropriate.
- Foster an environment of creativity, discipline, and respect among students.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their skills and confidence.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Maintain a safe and clean studio environment, ensuring all equipment is in good condition.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in community events or performances to showcase student achievements.
- Choreograph competitive routines for intermediate and advanced students.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dance Instructor or in a similar role, with expertise in Hip Hop and/or Jazz dance being essential.
- Strong knowledge of various dance styles and techniques.
- Experience in classroom management or behavior management strategies is highly desirable.
- Ability to work well with children and adults, demonstrating patience and effective communication skills.
- A passion for dance and the ability to inspire others through movement.
- Willing to choreograph competitive intermediate/advanced dance routines and recreational routines for beginners.
