The Senior Accountant will work directly with the Warwick Investment Group Controller. This role will be responsible for completing month end close tasks according to agreed upon deadlines, gathering supporting documents for tax preparation and completion of annual audits, and actively participating in projects as a member of the Accounting Department. As part of a growing accounting organization, this position will be asked to handle a variety of responsibilities not limited to the ones listed below and should have flexibility to grow and change with company needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
- Along with the Warwick Investment Group Controller, execute financial statement close process and prepare monthly financial statements for analysis.
- Record routine and non-routine journal entries.
- Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and recording journal entries.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.
- As part of the monthly close process, reconcile general ledger accounts, roll forward necessary accounts and record depreciation and amortizations.
- Generate financial reports in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Report on key financial metrics.
- Work with the Controller to provide necessary support for generation and review of fund-level financial statements and completion of audit.
- Assist other accounting groups with special projects and other responsibilities as requested by management.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 4 years applicable accounting experience
- Eagerness to learn IFRS and multicurrency transactions and regulatory reporting requirements
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal communication skills to interact with team members throughout the organization
- Desire to learn and initiative to problem-solve
- Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple projects with flexible deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years external audit experience
- Familiarity with accounting and financial reporting software, including running reports and recording journal entries
