JOB OVERVIEW:
This Senior Landman role will support the company’s land focused acquisition efforts and will be responsible for the land-related aspects of oil and gas development of Warwick’s assets. This position requires you to work both independently and collaboratively within the Land team and other disciplines across the organization. The ideal candidate is well organized, flexible, enjoys a challenge and can balance multiple priorities at the same time. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who desires a dynamic role that involves working across multiple disciplines internally and with other Operators in the basins in which we operate.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Utilize internal Land systems, other legacy land data files, public records, and title opinions to research and determine ownership of mineral rights and leasehold interests.
- Assist in the preparation and management of the acquisition process including due diligence, managing brokers, and collaborating with Legal and all other internal stakeholders.
- Communicate with mineral owners, surface owners, regulatory agencies, non-operating working interest owners, and other operators as necessary.
- Research and analyze land related documents and contracts with respect to drilling, production, and operations information, including but not limited to, depths held by production, continuous development obligations, critical activity dates, etc.
- Negotiation of business agreements for the exploration and development of mineral interest with a solid understanding of the impact the negotiated deal points have on the agreement’s commercial and economic value.
- Monitor and guide external parties including field brokers, title attorneys and surveyors to meet project deadlines within budgets and company requirements.
- Interact and provide the operation team with a high-level of Land support and information critical to ongoing development of assets for accomplishing company goals and objectives within budgetary guidelines.
- Responsible for supporting and developing relationships with internal cross-functional teams, including engineering, geology, marketing, accounting, regulatory, land administration, and other functional counterparts as needed for managing rights and/or obligations from ownership of leasehold and mineral interests.
- Provide strategic thought process conducive to building operated positions through acquisitions, trades, joint ventures, and other structures.
- Create and maintain detailed operated unit summaries to drive rig schedule timing.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 6-10 years of experience as an oil & gas company Landman.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by handling critical issues, holding others accountable and doing the right thing in all cases.
- Works well in a fast-paced organization by also being adaptable to competing demands.
- Proven ability to build respect, dependability, and rapport with a Land team and counterparts within the organization.
DESIRED QUALIFICAITONS:
- Texas and Oklahoma experience, preferred.
- RL, RPL or CPL Certification, preferred.
- Member of AAPL, preferred.
