POSITION: Middle School Principal
WORK YEAR: 210 Days Per Year
MNIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR MAKING APPLICATION:
As a prerequisite for making application for the position of secondary principal, persons must hold the Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university and be eligible for a secondary principal’s certificate issued by the Rhode Island State Department of Education.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates will be judged on the basis of qualifications for the position. The person whose qualifications are considered to be best among the candidates shall be appointed to the position. Among the qualifications to be considered are:
- Three years of building level administrative experience required;
- Principal experience preferred;
- Previous experiences in and outside the field of education;
- Evidence of ongoing professional development with an educational background;
- Evidence of work as Educational Leader in prior positions;
- Professional activities and involvement;
- Thorough knowledge of current educational opportunities and challenges.
