Day to day as a Youth Peer Support Specialist

Preferred qualifications include the successful completion of a Peer Support Training through the Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH).
Ideal candidates will be self-identified individuals who are in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use disorder, parents of children with behavioral health disorders, or individuals with personal relationships with those experiencing behavioral health challenges. These qualifications will enable you to effectively support and guide youth towards recovery and empowerment within our Youth Outreach Treatment Center in Provo, Utah.

- Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; AND One (1) year post high school education in social work
- psychology or a related field; AND One (1) year of general work experience; OR An equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Successfully completed a Peer Support Training through the Utah Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH); Self-identified individual who is in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use disorder; or parent of a child with a behavioral health disorder; or other adult who has or has had an ongoing and personal relationship with an individual with a behavioral health disorder.
