The German Department of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia invites applications for a full-time one-year position with the possibility of renewal at the level of Visiting Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2025. The area of specialty is open. The Department seeks a colleague who can contribute to our undergraduate German Studies program through a broad selection of courses at all levels of the curriculum, including elementary to advanced German language courses and seminars on literature, thought, and culture (in English and German). The typical teaching load is 6 courses over a 3-term academic year.

Qualifications
