The Washington Area Community Investment Fund (Wacif) seeks a full-time Senior Business Analyst, a key position responsible for administering, optimizing and implementing Wacif data management and reporting systems. This influential role will help Wacif leverage data to maximize our impact for small businesses in our region. The Senior Business Analyst requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data management tools, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to executive stakeholders.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Management and Technology Optimization
- Oversee the collection, storage, and maintenance of data, ensuring data integrity and security across all departments and technology platforms.
- Manage Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes to efficiently move and transform data from various sources into usable formats for analysis.
- Work collaboratively to cleanse data, add new data elements and provide data governance across key organizational systems;
- Analyze data to provide actionable insights, support decision-making, and measure the impact of programs and initiatives across Wacif for internal assessment and for funders.
- Administer and optimize HubSpot, Wacif’s customer relationship management (CRM) system, to ensure data integrity, efficient contact management, and uninterrupted access for the team.
- Create, organize and monitor reports and dashboards in HubSpot, providing both high-level and detailed data insights about client engagement for Wacif clients.
- Monitor HubSpot performance, evaluate system efficiently, and resolve problems as needed.
- Ensure alignment between technology platforms, business needs, and Wacif’s mission and goals.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Gather requirements from stakeholders, assess business needs and priorities, and structure them into feasible, easy-to-understand solutions.
- Build and maintain processes for gathering user requests, prioritizing requests, and execute them within set deadlines.
- Lead requirements gathering sessions, user interviews, and data and functionality mapping sessions.
- Develop and facilitate user training and workshops on critical technology platforms such as HubSpot, and business Intelligence tools, etc.
- Develop and maintain user training documentation for ongoing support and knowledge transfer.
- Build strong relationships with teams across the organization, including business leaders, to become a trusted technology and data partner.
- Serve as a thought partner for resolving technological challenges and ensuring business users get the best out of our tools.
Compliance and Data Analysis
- Contribute to defining and improving best practices, data governance, compliance, and process efficiency;
- Ensure data policies adhere to regulatory and funder requirements.
- Identify potential data security risks and recommend mitigation strategies
- Provide strategic recommendations based on data analysis to optimize Wacif’s operational efficiency, enhance decision-making, and improve program effectiveness
Other Duties
- Travel to organizational meetings as needed;
- Support cross-functional projects and initiatives as needed to advance Wacif’s strategic objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
- Business Analyst certification is a plus;
- 5 years of business analysis experience and requirements documentation in systems development required;
- Demonstrated proficiency in data management (schemas, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory), data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, Python or R.), data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI), Business process modeling software (Visio), and project management tools (Monday.com).
- Proven experience in configuration, administration, and optimization of CRMs, preferably HubSpot;
- Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail;
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio or Lucid, SharePoint;
- Excellent listening, verbal, written, and presentation communication skills;
- Demonstrate capability to understand and map complex organizational data flows;
- Ability to effectively test systems to ensure accuracy, reliability and usability, and troubleshoot when tech platforms may not effectively meet requirements;
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively, highly motivated and results driven;
- Experience successfully managing internal ticket tracking systems;
- Project management experience
- Experience in entrepreneurship, finance, economic opportunity and/or nonprofit sector a plus;
- Able to effectively work remotely and independently.
