Washington Beef LLC., is looking to fill the following position:
TITLE: Harvest Division Maintenance Manager
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Manager is a leadership role, responsible for all aspects of building and equipment maintenance in a state-of-the-art beef processing plant. This role ensures proper preventive maintenance of physical plant and all operating equipment, electrical troubleshooting, minimizing equipment downtime to provide maximum production capacity, and compliance with all OSHA regulations and food safety requirements. The Maintenance Manager leads and manages the maintenance team and ensures a culture of engagement and performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the performance of direct reports and promote a culture of engagement and performance through frequent discussions, coaching, motivation, and career development action plans
- Ensure a safe working environment for employees, enforce safety policies, and drive safety culture through proactive measures such as safety audits
- Develop the plant talent pool through effective employee relations, training, and communication with direct reports
- Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues
- Utilize mechanical and electrical expertise to maintain production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds
- Promote a culture in which production and maintenance work together to identify and resolve abnormal or degraded equipment conditions that could negatively impact safety, quality, or productivity
- Work with production to make modifications to equipment and work areas for maximum efficiency of operation
- Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance
- Implement corrective actions identified by key maintenance performance indicators as a means to create overall equipment effectiveness
- Remain current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation
- Maintain a positive attendance record by demonstrating consistent and punctual attendance on a regular basis
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- This role may require some travel (less than 5%)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and achieve results through mentoring
- Effective coaching and team-building skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and engineering documents and specifications as they apply to manufacturing equipment, facilities, and systems
- Read and understand electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams & schematics
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to lead and support multiple projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer-based applications.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ammonia refrigeration experience preferred. RETA CARO or CIRO certified.
- PSM/RMP experience preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 4 years of experience within a plant maintenance function, preferably in food manufacturing
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
WAGE RANGE: $92,000-$118,000 per year
BENEFITS: Competitive benefit package offered for employees (and qualified dependents) working 30 hours per week includes medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, 401k, PTO accrual up to 15 days per year, six (6) paid holidays annually, and three (3) floating holidays.
