Job Overview
Washington Borough School District is looking for a caring and committed School Lunch Aide to support our elementary school students. In this role, you will supervise students in the cafeteria, playground, and other designated areas during lunch periods.
Responsibilities
- Ensure students follow cafeteria rules and maintain a safe, respectful environment.
- Assist students with opening lunch containers and managing food items.
- Monitor students' behavior, addressing any issues as they arise and reporting serious concerns to appropriate school staff.
- Help maintain cleanliness in the cafeteria, including assisting with clean-up and food waste disposal.
- Provide positive reinforcement and encourage good manners during lunch.
- Assist with student transitions to and from the cafeteria.
- Communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Participate in any necessary training or meetings as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or higher preferred).
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when required.
