Job Summary: Housekeeper staff will clean and service all areas of the facility. Housekeeper staff will maintain an organized and clutter free environment.
Education: Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
Qualifications: 1. Previous experience in environmental services preferable but not essential.2. Must have some knowledge in the use of cleaning devices such as brooms, mops, buffers and other cleaning equipment.3. Has an interest in learning, ability to cooperate, and willingness to work under supervision. 4. Is self-motivated and able to take the initiative to complete duties as specified and directed by the Administrator 5. Maintains effective interpersonal relationships and works well with the general public. 6. Is capable of implementing changes as determined by the Administrator 7. Is of good emotional, mental and physical health having sound judgment and high professional standards. 8. Is courteous in working with residents, families and employees. 9. Maintains a neat, well-groomed and professional appearance at all times.10. Must be willing to be in and/or available to the facility weekends as well as weekdays.11. Must demonstrate ability to follow policies, procedures, practices and direction without the direct supervision of the Administrator.12. Must demonstrate the ability to function as a cooperative team member with all disciplines in the facility. 13. Must have a genuine interest in working with the elderly. 14. Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis, and perform task despite frequent interruptions.15. Ability to performing task with due consideration for residents in area. 16. Exercise initiative and judgment involved in maintaining assigned area in a clean and orderly fashion. 17. Must be willing to handle soiled, dirty laundry, and clean soiled, dirty lavatories, beds, chairs, and equipment within the nursing facility.18. Must have a pre-employment and an annual Tuberculosis screening examination as required by the state the Environmental Services Staff is employed.
Responsibilities: The Housekeeper Staff works with the Administrator to assure the following responsibilities are accomplished. This list is only partial and should not be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, tasks and responsibilities.1. Clean and service rooms, baths, lavatories, offices, and facility common areas. 2. Clean window sills, empty trash baskets, dust, polish, sweep, mop, and arrange furniture in an organized fashion to keep the facility in a clean and orderly manner.3. Wash, dry, fold, and dispense linens and resident's clothing. 4. Ensure that clean linen is returned to the linen storage area.5. Fold and store resident's clothing in appropriate areas.6. Remove lint from dryer, and ensure tumblers are clean and appropriate. 7. Clean toilets, vanity areas, night stands etc. 8. Perform terminal room clean following all required disinfecting requirements.9. Clean and disinfect isolation rooms per infection control standards10. Discard biohazard trash appropriately.11. Promotes effective work relationships with the administrator, medical staff, personnel, volunteers, agencies, and management staff affiliated with the facility. 12. Dust furniture with damp cloth or polishing cloth daily; straighten furniture.13. Dust light fixtures inside and outside, dust window sills and beds, clean all door vents. 14. Empty and wash ash trays and waste baskets.15. Sweep and mop floors. 16. Clean wash basins, commodes, polish chrome fixtures in bathrooms, wash all mirrors, and spot clean walls.17. Clean window blinds. Clean beds thoroughly, including frames, side rails, head boards and footboards. 18. Clean bedside tables in resident's room, dust all-shelves, remove all trash and debris.19. Clean environmental services cart and any equipment utilized daily. 20. Vacuum living areas, and dining areas as assigned.21. Ensure that soiled linen barrels are cleaned prior to returning to use.24. Attends and participates in facility meetings. 25. Participates in Quality Assessment and Improvement Program26. Participates in Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program27. Reports immediately to supervisor and administrator situations involving abuse, neglect, or suspicion of a crime. 28. Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Compliance Program, HIPPA Standard, and Computer Usage Agreement.29. All other duties as assigned by the Administrator Professional Requirements1. Adheres to dress code, appearance is neat and clean.2. Completes educational requirements per policy.3. Maintains regulatory requirements.4. Occasional travel/overnights required for training, professional meetings, emergencies, and evacuations.5. Reports to work on time and as scheduled. 6. Wears identification while on duty.7. Job Location: Must work throughout all nursing areas of the facility. May require working irregular hours and may be exposed to communicable diseases and/or body fluids, medical preparations, toxic substances and occasionally ionizing radiation. Occasional travel/overnights for training, professional meetings, emergencies and evacuations.
