Benefits Eligibility: Eligible for vacation and sick time
Vacation Eligibility after 6 months of employment (36 hours up to 3 years)
Sick hours available after 90 days of employment (10 hours up to 3 years)
Twelve Holidays a year Employee Birthday (Thirteen total)
Job Summary:
Working in the Public Defender Office duties include:
- Prepare legal briefs and motions
- Assist clients with the arraignment process by reviewing their financial information and rights
- Process discovery into our online database
- Help with trial preparation and case investigation
Must be a rising 2nd year law student interested in a career in criminal law. Rule XV certified or eligible students preferred, but all are welcome to apply.

Required Qualifications:
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required, this position is subject to pre-employment, random drug and reasonable suspicion testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.
