Instructor Aide

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position works in all classrooms, including preschool and schoolage, changing daily where support is needed. Must be able to work cooperatively with all classroom teachers, instructor aides, therapists, and student aides to plan, implement, and document students’ goals. Participates and assists in the supervision of students during, but not limited to the following: classroom activities, swimming, physical education and recreational activities, self-help and life skills training, field trips and community outings. Provides student personal care needs and manages behavioral issues. Assists in testing and evaluating students and completes needed documentation. Assists in preparing student activities and bulletin boards and organizing the classroom. Must have computer skills. Helps with necessary cleaning and laundry. Lifts, carries, and moves students, equipment and supplies according to in-service training. Under the direction and training of program nurse, performs necessary tasks associated with delegated nursing. Follows applicable rules, regulations, and policies. Communicates with students, family members and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree preferred. Possess or be eligible for a valid Ohio Department of Education Educational Aide Permit. Possess skills, knowledge, and ability needed to fulfill job responsibilities. Be able to swim and participate in deep water swimming activities, carry out written and oral instructions, recognize unusual or dangerous conditions and take appropriate action, and be able to lift, move, and carry students in a safe manner according to in service training.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.90 - $16.77 per hour

Expected hours: 28 – 35 per week
