Organization Summary:

Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) seeks to improve the quality of life in Washington County by promoting and facilitating philanthropy. We accomplish this by assuming four philanthropic roles of Grantmaker, Donor Service Organization, Fundraiser, and Community Leader. Fostering philanthropy by offering charitable gifting opportunities to donors on an individualized basis and at reasonable fees, we make charitable giving easier, more satisfying, and more effective. Currently WCCF is the largest publicly supported grant-making foundation in Washington County (PA). Total assets: $60 Million, Component Funds: 200, Cumulative Grants: $30 Million.


Position Summary: 

WCCF seeks a skilled and experienced executive to be the Foundation’s President & CEO. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the organization in achieving its’ mission, and will be accountable to the Board of Trustees. The incumbent will set strategy and vision, build the culture, lead the senior management team, and allocate capital appropriately to meet the mission of improving the quality of life in Washington County by promoting and facilitating philanthropy.

The President & CEO will also lead the creation and implementation of strategic, development, marketing, financial, programmatic and operational plans, ensuring coordination and alignment of all departments, activities, initiatives and programs of the Foundation.


Key Accountabilities:

Lead the asset development activity of the Foundation to achieve the goal set with Board of Trustees.


Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to develop short-and-long range strategies and goals to grow the Foundations assets.


Serve as the chief spokesperson for the Foundation ensuring high visibility with prospective Donors, the business community and the general public.


Nurture existing Donor relationships and develop strategies to meet and secure new Donors.


Lead and motivate direct reports to advance employee engagement and develop a high performing team focused on achieving Donor satisfaction.


Oversee all operations and Foundation activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall strategy, mission and meet the highest ethical standards.


Keep informed of external trends, issues and legislation that may have an impact on the Foundation and collaborate with the Board of Trustees to take advantage of opportunities.


Oversee the Grants, Scholarship and all Educational programs to ensure compliance with all governing documents and the Foundation’s mission.


Ensure the fiscal integrity of the Foundation.


Qualifications:

· Proven experience executing organizational growth and leading a successful organization of similar or greater size.

· Strong business acumen and a history of providing visionary leadership at the executive level.

· Proven experience with overseeing diverse business functions such as Finance, Marketing, Public Relations, Human Resources, etc.

· Experience and success in recruiting, motivating, developing, retaining, and mentoring high performance, mission-driven, and results-oriented teams.

· Previous executive nonprofit experience preferred, specifically, proven experience in:

* High level asset development, from both individual and institutional donors.

* Securing major gifts from a diverse base of donors.

* Cultivating planned gifts from inception to receipt.

* Leading and collaborating with a nonprofit Board.

· A minimum of a bachelor's degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or related degree required. Advanced degree preferred.


Salary commensurate with experience


Benefits: Medical insurance premium paid by employer, 4 weeks PTO, 10 paid holidays, 403(b) plan with 6% employer contribution after 90 days
