Hours: Monday- Thursday 2:30pm-5:00pm
SUMMARY
The Hospital Courier position is responsible for providing timely pick-up and delivery service for various departments and sites in order to meet hospital and affiliate needs works closely with Materials Management department.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to be successful.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following)
- Responsible for performing all functions and duties associated with the pickup, delivery, and transport of materials between hospital, clinics, retail pharmacy, and customers (Includes: supplies, equipment, specimens and documents)
- Adhere to an established schedule or emergent needs in a timely and efficient manner
- Adhere to HIPPA and confidentiality standards when delivering confidential hospital documents, legal records, or patient materials
- Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies
- Display and promote company values
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3 to 5 years of driving experience
- Valid Iowa driver’s license with no major driving violations in the past 5 years
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Ability to prioritize and identify more and less critical activates and tasks; adjust priorities as appropriate in a calm and professional manner.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to efficiently operate a computer.
- Ability to operate the department’s lift and pallet jack.
- Uses analytical skills to research purchase supplies and/or services that keep the best interest of the organization in mind.
- Ability to build a rapport with vendors to ensure their goals are aligned with the facility.
