Supervisor: Court Administrator
Work Schedule: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday-Friday
Salary: $16.00 - $18.00/hr. – Based on Experience

PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to process, maintain, and serve the public through clerical duties assigned by the Juvenile Court Clerk’s office in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Perform other functions as designated by the Court Administrator and/or Judge. Understands, adheres and enforces the policies and procedures of the Washington County Juvenile Court.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Assists in the daily general operation of the Juvenile Court and work of other clerks through communication, general office operations, and organizational skills both verbal and written. Includes greeting and helping of public with questions and filing of pleadings, acceptance of financial payments, and oversight of court docket and daily operational functions.
· Maintain files and related documentation of each case file according to established case flow, records retention, and confidentiality policy including accepting, preparing, assembling, scanning and mailing of documents filed/received with/by the court.
· Enter and maintain all required information in the Court’s Case Management Program. Operate courtroom recording equipment.
· Establish and maintain viable and effective relationships with service providers and other agencies in order to facilitate the continued flow and exchange of information.
· Establish and maintain viable and effective relationships with the Court, jail, prosecutor’s office, public defender’s office and private attorneys.
· Maintain an atmosphere conducive to the Court philosophy in regard to the dignity and rights of those served by the Court.
· Perform any other duties as required or assigned by the Court Administrator, and/or Judge.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be a proficient typist.
· Must possess knowledge of court procedures and functions.
· Must be able to complete paperwork neatly, precisely and in a timely manner.
· Must be able to make independent decisions when situations warrant such action.
· Must be able to effectively and efficiently manage time and organize workload.
· Must be able to accept direction and instruction from supervisor(s).
· Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
· Must be able to cope with the physical, mental and emotional stress of this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma
· One year of experience working in a clerical type position in an office and/or within the legal system, advanced computer skills, effective inter-personal communication skills and strong organization skills.
· Must hold a valid driver’s license.
