What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Classroom Teacher (all locations) position at Washington County School District?
Performs related duties of a teacher to provide continuity in the day-to-day responsibilities during the absence of the regular employee;
Note: Substitute employees are employed on an as needed, on-call, day-to-day basis and are not guaranteed work on a regular basis. There are no benefits associated with substitute employment
Job Summary:
Manages classroom and provides instructions according to plans as prepared by the classroom teacher
Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning
Assists the teacher with all aspects of the daily routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, lunchroom duty, recess, etc.
Works with students to help reinforce learning objectives
Adheres to all Washington County Schools policies and procedures
Uses appropriate judgment to act in the best interest of students at all times
Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Rates of pay
Non-licensed, non-certified substitutes: $80/day
Non-licensed, certified substitutes: $90/day
Licensed substitutes: $103/day (must upload a copy of current teaching license with application)

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Ability to understand and follow directions
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher
Experience working with children in a school setting
Salary : $80 - $103
