Job Description:
Under general supervision, manages the bookkeeping and accounting work in the School System Transportation Department. Work involves maintaining an accurate daily summary of charges for vehicles serviced by the school bus vehicle maintenance section; summarizing and balancing charges on a daily basis. Also responsible for entering data on work orders, including labor, parts and fuel into the State Vehicle Fleet Management System (SVFMS) as required by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction; and prepares the parts and fuels inventory for the Annual Pupil Transportation Report (TD-1) as required by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verifies accuracy of all daily written charges; maintains daily summary of charges for individual vehicles serviced by the bus garage; totals all records each month for submission to the NC DPI.
Summarizes and balances labor and parts charge from Equipment and Repair Parts Order (TD-18) on a daily basis
Enters data from fuel sheets, work orders, labor and parts into the Business Systems Information Portal (BSIP)
Enter coding for Equipment and repair Parts Order (TD-18)
Enters materials received (parts/supplies) into BSIP for use as inventory
Checks materials received against invoices to verify price and quantity accuracy
Maintains log of materials received for the Annual Pupil Transportation Report (TD-1)
Prepares parts and fuels inventory for the Annual Pupil transportation Report (TD-1) as required by NCDPI
- Maintains data in Transportation Information Management System (TIMS) according to the NCDPI
- ?Creates bus routes for drivers
Maintains file by school of daily Pre- and Post-Trip Bus Inspection logs
Generates reports as required from the Business Systems Information Portal (BSIP) to verify accuracy of previous day’s data entry
Files daily work
Assist in answering telephone; provides information, records information and directs calls to appropriate person.
Performs other related work as required.
Performs other duties as prescribed by the Transportation Director
