Who Should Apply?
This position is for individuals who:
- Hold a Basic Oregon DPSST certification or equivalent local, state, or federal certification as a Police Officer or Sheriff’s Patrol Deputy.
- Have completed a Field Training Program.
- Have at least one year of full-time (2080 hours) work experience as a certified Police Officer or Sheriff's Patrol Deputy within the last 12 months.

Job Responsibilities:
- Respond to service calls
- Patrol county roads, residential, and business areas
- Investigate traffic accidents
- Enforce traffic and criminal laws
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Certification: Basic Oregon DPSST or equivalent
- Experience: Minimum one year full-time as a certified officer within the last 12 months
- Background Check: Must pass a thorough investigation per DPSST standards
- Driver’s License: Valid license with an acceptable record
Hiring Process:
- Application Submission
- Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) – Complete within 16 days of receiving the link
- Physical Abilities Test (PAT) – Complete an approved PAT or ORPAT test within six months
- Pre-Offer Suitability Test – Evaluates job compatibility
- Ride-Along – Required for final assessment
- Panel Interview
- Commander Interview & Conditional Job Offer
- Post-Offer Evaluations – Medical and psychological assessments
