What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Washington County Vocational Workshop?
Responsibilities:
-Supervises and trains workers with different abilities in production and during other activities as required
-Prepares work station in an efficient, safe, and orderly manner and contributes to the overall cleanliness of the work area
-Gives special attention to the inspection and packaging of the finished product to ensure all production requirements have been met
-Assists in training the participants in desirable work habits and job skills
-Provides assistance and support to participants as needed, including social behavior and acceptable social manners
-Engages and provides activities on a daily basis for those who are not participating in work activities
Qualifications:
-HS Diploma/GED
-Must be 18 years or older
-Must be a certified DSP or willing to complete training to obtain DSP Certification
-Must have a valid Driver's License
-Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
