What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre-Owned Manager position at Washington Division?
Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood is looking for a Pre-Owned Manager.
The Pre-Owned Manager is responsible for providing a supply of marketable used vehicles within the purchasing policies and financial guidelines of the dealership. Then seeing those vehicles get reconditioned, on budget, within a reasonable amount of time and to exacting standards. Once they are on the lot they need to be merchandised properly to ensure they are sold within the 60 day hard turn.
Responsibilities:
- Keeps abreast of current market and valuation of used vehicles.
- Identifies viable auctions and has working knowledge of inventory selection at each.
- Works with General Manager and Inventory staff to identify buying needs and price points.
- Attends car auctions to purchase used vehicles and sell wholesale units.
- Conducts on-site customer trade-in or sell-only vehicle appraisals.
- Makes financially sound purchasing decisions for the company by using mechanical knowledge and proven ability to estimate reconditioning costs.
- Completes auction paperwork and provides proper documentation to the business office.
- When not at auction and as needed, performs various Inventory Department duties at the dealership.
- Oversee mechanical and cosmetic reconditioning process.
- Merchandise inventory to sell within 60 days.
- Review pricing weekly to stay in line with the market.
Minimum of three years of vehicle purchasing experience. Proven ability to buy premium used vehicles still under factory warranty. Understanding of vehicle technology and reconditioning costs. Must be able to make detailed financial decisions within strict time frames and retain crucial information regarding retail/wholesale vehicle market. Strong communication skills and discipline to follow purchasing guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Dealership management experience
- Minimum of three years of vehicle purchasing experience
- Enthusiastic with high energy throughout the sales workday
- Clean driving record
- Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screen
- Possess strong communication skills
- Must have a clean & valid driver’s license
$140 - $240k yearly range.
Salary : $140,000 - $240,000
