As the Lead Overnight Security at the Washington Duke Inn, you’ll take charge of ensuring the safety and security of the property during the night shift. You’ll be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, addressing security incidents, and responding swiftly to emergencies. Leading the overnight security team, you'll ensure that procedures are followed while maintaining a calm and controlled environment. You’ll also serve as a point of contact for both guests and staff, addressing any concerns with professionalism and a friendly touch. Responsibilities:
• Collects and administrates the logging of all Lost Property turned into the Security Office, and storing it in a timely matter.
• Oversees overnight security team
• Acts as dispatcher and observes surveillance monitors.
• Answers phone in the Security Office and performs light office work such as, but not limited to, filing, copying, computer data entry, etc.
• Maintains the objectives, policies, and procedures laid out in handbooks, training materials, memorandums, directives, as well as state and federal standards.
• Prioritizes and organizes work assignments.
• Investigates all incidents reported occurring on their shift that are relevant to the four categories: Crime, Incidents, Medical Emergencies, and Traffic.
• When present at the scene of any medical emergency, acts as a first responder, and assesses and renders appropriate first aid and/or other life saving techniques, and, if necessary and prudent, requests the dispatch of additional Emergency Service personnel, such as paramedics.
Qualifications
TO DO THIS KIND OF WORK, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Bending, lifting and/or carrying of objects as required. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
MATH SKILLS: Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Communicate effectively in English (both written and orally) with other employees, guests or vendors as needed. Must be able to read and comprehend written information. A second language skill is highly desirable.
SPECIFIC VOCATIONAL PREPARATION:
Requires Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and First Aid certification. Must have above average ability to communicate in English with guests, management, co-workers, and members of Law Enforcement and Emergency Services. Must have good written communication skills.
TO DO THIS JOB YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS BEFORE BEING HIRED:
Possess a valid North Carolina Operators License.
TO DO THIS JOB YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING AMOUNT OF TOTAL EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Salary : $22 - $23
