Job Summary

Job Type : Part-time

Pay : $8.50 - $20.00 per hour (base pay is $8.50 Tips)

Expected hours : 15 – 25 per week

Shift : 8 hour shift, Evenings

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the set-up and maintenance of bar area. Prepare drink orders for guests at the bar and in the restaurant / lounge.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Make and serve drinks to guests and restaurant servers, using Marriott beverage standards and procedures, beverage manual and recipe book as references.
Set-up and break down bar according to standards, including proper liquor lock up.
Follow all procedures and policies regarding beverage control per Marriott standards.
Welcome guests. Listen to determine beverage preferences. Make recommendations and take drink orders.
Share ideas with the Executive Chef and F&B Supervisor about drink menus, inform customers about new beverages and specials.
Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
Take inventory and inform the Executive Chef or F&B Supervisor if supplies are needed to ensure the bar is well stocked.
Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations.
Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
Each associate is expected to complete, within their ability, all reasonable requests by management.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience : 2 years’ experience as bartender preferred

Other Requirements

Knowledge of kitchen appliances and tools, both their proper use and how to clean them.

Knowledge of proper food handling.

Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.

Ability to : perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy. Prioritize and organize. Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment. Follow directions thoroughly. Understand guest’s service needs. Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Work with minimal supervision. Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
