Washington Elder Law PLLC is a local family owned estate planning law firm with expertise in long term care benefits planning. We serve the estate planning needs our valuable clients by creating plans that help protect their assets from the high cost of long-term care. Our estate planning mission is to educate and build long term relationships with client families as they jointly participate in our planning process. Our goal is to provide a complete asset protection and long-term care focused estate plan resulting in peace of mind for every family we have the opportunity to serve.


Trust, Probate Estate, and Medicaid Application Legal Document Preparation Duties:

  • The ideal highly organized, detail-oriented candidate will support our estate planning process with the creation, management, and storage of all word processing for the firm, including firm correspondence, drafting of trusts, wills, health care proxies, powers of attorney, deeds, probate proceedings, and Trust administration documents
  • The ideal candidate will create synergy with referral partners, and help create a smooth workflow experience for existing clients whose projects are moving through the firm's estate planning process
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing firm funding matters assigned in a timely and efficient manner including all trust funding forms required to retitle client assets in accordance with attorney instructions
  • The ideal candidate will support our Medicaid application process to confirm client eligibility, gather all information required to complete the application, and submit the completed application in a timely manner


Professional Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly developed time management, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to multi task with clarity; facilitating several projects at the same time with the ability to work independently or with a team
  • Professional level communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills. Able to listen (give full attention to what potential and exiting clients are saying), be empathetic, and influence other people in written or verbal forms.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for working in sensitive environments requiring a high degree of confidentiality and maintain confidentiality of client information
  • Manage and complete tasks and projects and ensure deadlines requested by lead Attorney are met
  • Skilled at getting information by observing, receiving, and/or researching to determine compliance with standards
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in transcribing information
  • Skilled at formatting and communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Provide quality customer service to clients, potential clients, and their families and ensure client calls/emails are handled in a timely manner
  • Type proficiently and accurately at a minimum of 35 to 40 wpm


Education and Licenses:

  • Bachelor of Arts or AA Degree with paralegal certification preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years probate and trust administration document drafting experience required
  • A minimum of 2 years medicaid application submission experience preferred
  • Notary Public License – active, including DocuSign e-sign endorsement preferred


Technology and Systems Knowledge and Abilities:

  • DocuSign electronic Notary and Notary License, preferred
  • Zoom, MS Teams, online conferencing systems, preferred
  • MyCase operating system and client portal, and Actionstep drafting software, preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and Microsoft Office365, required
  • Adept in office equipment including digital phone system, scanner, copier, fax


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year, DOE

Salary : $62,000 - $68,000
