Summary:
Under general direction, incumbent(s) analyzes comprehensive reporting and complex databases; develops reports for forecasting, trending, and results analysis; and analyzes funding sources to extract and define relevant information. In addition, incumbent(s) assists with the preparation of the District’s budget by preparing revenue projections for all grant funds. Incumbent(s) provides administrative assistance to immediate supervisor and assists with the compilation of procedure manuals for the Budget & Finance Department.
Essential Functions:
- Analyzes and manages assigned budgets for the Finance Department.
- Completes analysis for individual funds to identify any outstanding issues including cash management, interest reversions, amendable project balances, federal direct funding draw requests, and end of project cash reversions.
- Analyzes reports and spreadsheets for the District to include, but not limited to, revenue and expense reports and project completion reports.
- Provides technical assistance and training to District personnel regarding allowable fund expenditures and District procedures according to regulations outlined in the USFR and the ARS Title 15, and district procedures.
- Develops, documents, and revises procedures and forms applicable to area of assignment.
- Coordinantes the budget projection process for grants.
- Balance fund records, prepare journal entries, post and reconcile revenue for grant funds in accordance with the USFR guidelines.
- Performs indirect cost charge analysis to determine applicable expenditures relating to indirect cost charges.
- Completes comparison analysis between year-to-date charges and projected applicable charges for grant and food service funds.
- Performs in-kind calculations for the Head Start fund to ensure accuracy with the monthly reporting.
- Coordinates with the internal auditor to ensure compliance with the federal guidelines.
- Utilizes electronic financial information from District systems and databases.
- Reviews and ensures data and other pertinent information is accurate.
- Provides technical support to schools and departments regarding budget and accounting related questions as well as SERP (Visions) training to new and existing grant coordinators.

Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, an applicant must meet the following required qualifications. Verification of these required qualifications is necessary.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
- Two years of finance, accounting, budget or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
It is preferred that applicant possesses the following preferred qualifications; however, the following qualifications are not required to be eligible for this position.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field;
- Five years of finance, accounting, budget or related experience.
Knowledge and Skills Required:

- Visualizing and applying various types of spreadsheet applications;

- Engaging and encouraging communication skills while interacting with supervisors, staff, students, etc. to exchange information.
