Position Description Personnel Security Assistant Location : Security Policy & Clearance Appeals Office (SP&CAO), WHS Key Responsibilities : Security Clearance Adjudication – Review, evaluate, and adjudicate personnel security investigations, counterintelligence reports, and appeals. Ensure compliance with DoD policies and clearance standards. Administrative Support – Manage case files, update records, process mail, schedule meetings, and maintain office supplies. ️ Data & Records Management – Maintain security databases, track personnel records, ensure data accuracy, and support digitization efforts. Policy & Compliance – Assist in developing and updating security policies, SOPs, and directives. Support policy working groups and improve security case processing. Reports & Metrics – Prepare reports, track security metrics, and improve workflow efficiency. Communication & Liaison – Coordinate with government agencies, respond to inquiries, provide training, and support security operations. Security & Confidentiality – Handle classified information, maintain document control, and ensure compliance with security protocols. Position Duties / Responsibilities Required Skills & Knowledge :
- Personnel security principles & clearance adjudication
- Familiarity with DoD 5200.2-R, EO 10450, EO 13526
- Knowledge of Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret clearances
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
