What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Nurse I - Operating Room - Full-Time 8Hr - Variable Shifts position at Washington Hospital?

Salary Range: $79.94
Summary of Duties: The Staff Nurse I is a new graduate professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides fiscally responsible care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members following the CA Nurse Practice Act, standards set by other related regulatory bodies and WHHS policies. OR RN fellowship program is designed for new RNs who would like to work in a perioperative setting. The fellowship combines unit-based training, didactic perioperative nursing course, and simulation training.
Education Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN or higher required (will accept Associates in Nursing, currently enrolled in a BSN program).
Licensure/Certification Requirements: Current CA RN license required. AHA BLS required. ACLS preferred.
Experience Requirements: In progress of WHHS New RN Grad Program, or has successfully completed recent New Grad Program, and has six months or less acute hospital experience required. Two or more years of experience in an Operating Room setting
Special Skills/Abilities: Ability to work productively in a busy and complex environment. Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
