Summary
Residence Life Coordinators (RLCs) at Washington & Jefferson College are student-centered professional staff members within the Office of Residence Life that are responsible for fostering a supportive, inclusive, and learning focused experience within campus residence halls. Residence Life Coordinators report to the Director of Residence Life and work collaboratively to achieve a wide range of departmental, divisional, and institutional goals through direct service to students living on campus.
Residence Life Coordinators for First-Year Student Success are uniquely positioned to have a positive impact on the experience of first-year students at Washington & Jefferson College. The primary focus of this position is an intentional connection to students as they transition to campus through the residential experience and collaboration with a wide range of college initiatives, resources, and support systems.
This is an in-person, full-time, 12-month, live-in position. Duties & Responsibilities
Residence Life Coordinators are responsible for the following core duties at Washington & Jefferson College :
- Oversees the daily housing operation of campus residence halls within a defined area of campus.
- Provides leadership to and facilitates major campus housing initiatives including move-in, winter hall closing, spring semester hall opening, and end of the academic year closing.
- Supervises and trains a staff of Resident Assistants (RA) with a primary focus on ensuring that each RA is connected to every member of their respective residential community.
- Implements the Residential Learning & Engagement Framework within the defined campus housing area and through department wide programs.
- Provides a high level of direct support to students and collaborates with faculty and staff to make appropriate referrals while using appropriate communication and documentation tools (Prez Pathways, Maxient, CARE team referral).
- Facilitates weekly RA staff team and one-to-one meetings.
- Serves as a member of the Administrator On-Call team that responds to urgent and emergency student needs on campus.
- Other duties as assigned.
