Job Description: As a Government Affairs Attorney at Washington Legal Group, you will provide expert legal guidance on matters related to government policies, regulations, and compliance. This role involves acting as a liaison between our organization and government entities to ensure that our operations are aligned with applicable laws and regulations. You will be instrumental in shaping our public policy strategies and advocating for our interests at local, state, and federal levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that might impact the local municipality.
  • Provide legal advice on compliance with government policies and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, policies, and position statements.
  • Develop and implement public policy strategies to advance organizational goals.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with government officials and regulatory agencies.
  • Advocate for the organization's interests at various governmental levels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers and industry groups.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Georgia.
  • 2-5 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or administrative law.
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
