What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper position at Washington-Morgan Counties Community Action?
Bookkeeper: Complies and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting, business transactions. Verifies, allocates, and posts details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in computer files from documents such as sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs and computer printouts. Summarizes details in separate ledgers or computer files and transfers data to general ledger.
Reconciles reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business. Completes records to or through trial balance. Runs accounts payable checks. Files vouchers. Responsible for storage and extensive record retrieval. Responsible to attend training as directed either locally or out of town.
Education and/or Experience: Minimum of an associate in accounting. Prefer a bachelors in accounting. Related experience in a non-profit, computerized bookkeeping environment is strongly preferred.
Starting pay: 2 yr. degree $15.86 4 yr degree $17.69
