What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist position at Washington-Morgan Counties Community Action?
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our education site, utilizing your core skills in computer literacy, phone etiquette, and customer service to provide a welcoming and efficient experience for visitors and callers. Possessing the clerical skills, you will handle a multi-line phone system and assist with office management tasks. Your relevant skills in Microsoft Office, data entry, and time management will support your responsibilities in maintaining a professional and organized office environment.
Answer multi-line telephone switchboard in a timely, courteous and professional manner, directing each to the appropriate person for assistance.
Transfer calls for 20 employees.
Accurately receive and disseminate messages
Route inter-office mail.
Send and receive faxes
Greet, assist and direct all visitors in a courteous manner.
Post and update information on bulletin boards.
Sort and distribute mail.
Monitors employee sign-in form tracking presence and location of employees.
Monitors supplies and orders employment applications, copy paper, copier supplies, janitorial and bathroom supplies.
Assists individuals who visit the facility. Announces appointments.
Does other general office duties, as needed.
Keep area clean and clear of obstructions that might impede traffic flow and safety considerations.
Keep pamphlets and employment application bins filled with current material.
Ensure the safety and security of the Head Start facility.
Participate in professional development, sometimes on-site, at the request and support of supervisor.
Must be responsible, able to handle confidential material, able to organize effectively and able to work independently.
Operate and maintain office equipment.
Must be able to work in the classroom to give breaks to teaching staff.
Minimum qualifications: Associates degree or 2 year certificate in secretarial and/or information systems
years of general office experience. Must pass BCI/FBI and other background checks. Must have a vehicle and vehicle insurance.
Starting wage: $14.25 per hour. Monday thru Friday. 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
