What are the responsibilities and job description for the Promotions and Events Associate (Entry Level, Limited Term) position at WASHINGTON NATIONALS?
The Promotions and Events Associate is an integral part of the Promotions & Events department. The individuals to fill this role will be exposed to and responsible for a variety of gameday initiatives. These initiatives will include, but not be limited to, the Jr. Nationals Kids Club, promotional giveaways, Fan Appreciation and numerous theme nights & special ticket events through the course of the season. This associate position will be heavily relied upon to interact with fans daily and trusted to communicate with fans in a friendly but professional manner.
The associate will need to be available to work in person in Washington, DC from approximately March – October 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the youth marketing initiatives including the Jr. Nationals Kids Club and Kids Run The Bases
- Serve as primary liaison to fans and members of the Jr. Nationals Kids Club including:
- Activating the Jr. Nats kiosk every Saturday and Sunday home game
- Managing fan correspondences and requests sent into the Jr. Nats inbox
- Writing content to include in the monthly newsletters, website and the Jr. Nats membership portal
- Assist with the execution of all special events associated with the Kids Club (i.e. online contests, batting practice viewing opportunities, player meet & greets, etc.)
- Assist in the execution of all theme nights & special events by coordinating with vendors, entertainment, event staff, managing giveaways, etc.
- Responsible for the organization and maintenance of promotional inventory for the Promotions and Events department including the internal distribution of items, storage, organization, etc.
- Assist in all promotional activities related to home games
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled (completed a minimum of two years) or just completed an undergraduate or recent graduate program of an accredited College or University.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Successfully complete a Background Investigation.
- Be available for the entire length of the program (March 2025-October 2025)
- Must be available to work all Saturday and Sunday home games.
- Requires working evenings on a regular basis.
- Associates are not entitled to a job at the conclusion of the Program.

Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Office: Working conditions are normal for an office environment, however the position will have gameday responsibilities that may include exposure to weather conditions including extreme temperatures
- The position will require walking throughout the facility, as well as standing for extended periods of time.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
- Must have a flexible schedule that allows for the possibility of working a combination of days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Gameday: Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue. May work at heights. Employee will be exposed to inclement weather of varying degrees. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, and climb up/down stairs. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit and must lift and/or move up to 45 pounds
Compensation:
The projected wage rate for this position is $17.50 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s: qualifications, skills, expertise, education/training, certifications, and other organization requirements. Starting salaries for new employees are frequently not at the top of the applicable salary range.
