Washington Outpatient Surgery Center, LLC (WOSC) is a multi-specialty center, with five operating rooms and two procedure rooms, that operates Monday through Friday. We're looking for an experienced professional who can work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and provide our patients with the care and support they need prior to surgery. The circulating registered nurse will work directly with the surgeon and the Surgical Technician. The position's duties are highly variable, so the successful candidate must be willing to change direction at a moment's notice and keep pace with the other OR professionals on staff.
Job Duties
- Performs the circulating nurse’s role and functions following approved operating room procedures to meet the requirements of scheduled procedures.
- Prepare the operating room according to requirements of patient/procedure/surgeon's preference.
- Assembles and provides properly functioning equipment, supplies, and instruments before start of procedure.
- Anticipates needs of surgical team and assists anesthesia personnel by supporting patient during administration of anesthesia.
- Reviews patients’ medical records/needs to plan care with other healthcare team members.
- Assists with the proper and safe positioning of the patient and prepares operative site as directed by established procedures.
- Monitors compliance with principles of aseptic technique according to accepted standards.
Required Education and License/Certification
- Associates level degree from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's level preferred
- Active RN California License
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS Certification (preferred)
Qualifications and Skills
- 2 years OR experience preferred
- ASC experience preferred; Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, General & ENT experience preferred
- Strong ethical and moral character references
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, visitors, physicians and with their office personnel, coworkers, and other healthcare facilities in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner
- Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, and general public
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems
- Language skills adequate for high-level written, interpersonal, and telephone communication in American English
- Electronic Medical Record experience; EPIC experience preferred
Per Diem Requirements
- 4 shifts per month
- Availability must be given for a 4 week time period to management
Schedule: M-F 8hr Variable Shifts
Salary : $65 - $72
