Develops, coordinates, and implements all sales functions associated with selling compounded thermoplastic materials within an assigned territory.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Develops sales strategies and action plans for identified targets of opportunity.
- Secures orders from existing and potential Customers by means of visiting the Customer facility or contacting by phone.
- Obtains Customer specifications and secures opportunities to quote on Customer requirements.
- Follows up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to Customers.
- Establishes professional Customer/Vendor relationships with appropriate Customer personnel (Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Management, other key personnel).
- Places Customer orders and sample requests with Customer Service.
- Assists Product Development staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs.
- Attends Customer molding trials as required.
- Submits monthly activity/call reports concerning Customer-related activities for quote, orders, and problems concerning customer relationships.
- Provides timely response to Customer inquiries, problems and complaints to ensure Customer satisfaction.
- Performs all assigned duties in the assigned sales territory.
- Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Management, Engineering, or equivalent, and/or 5-7 years technical marketing, engineering, or sales experience with the company or in the plastics industry. Outside sales experience and/or Product development experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business and achieve profitable sales in highly competitive markets.
- Must be able to travel to Customer sites, Vendors, and between WPP divisions.
- Skilled in the use of basic computer software, including word-processing and spreadsheets.
