Position Summary
The role of the Benefits Administrator reports to the Human Resources Manager. This position oversees and administers employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other compensation related offerings. This role involves ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, managing benefits enrollment and changes, and providing support to employees regarding their benefits options.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Administer and oversee comprehensive employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other offerings.
- Coordinate the enrollment process for new hires, life events (e.g., marriages, births), and open enrollment periods. Ensure eligibility requirements are met.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local benefits regulations (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, ERISA).
- Provide timely and accurate support for employees regarding benefit options, coverage details, claims, and plan changes.
- Maintain accurate records of employee benefits documentation to support compliance audits.
- Maintain a strong understanding of employee benefits, ensuring effective program management, compliance, and employee support.
- Conduct benefits orientations and informational sessions to enhance employee understanding and engagement.
- Prepare for and participate in Benefit Committee meetings.
- Promote positive team-centric environment.
- Maintain a standard to be the best place to receive care and the best place to give care.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in related field, required.
- Licensure and Certifications: Active drivers license and auto insurance.

Experience: Minimum 3 years within human resources fields and/or benefits administration required.
Professional Skills
- Employee Benefits Expertise - Strong understanding of health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits, including compliance with relevant laws (e.g. ERISA, ACA, COBRA)
- HR & Employment Law Knowledge - Familiarity with labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and compliance requirements (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficient in human resources software and data management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment: This position will spend a majority of time working in a standard office environment where 80% of time is sitting or standing, performing office/clerical work and 20% of time walking. This position may lift up to 50 lbs.
