Position Summary
The role of the Clinical Dietitian reports to the Director of Clinical Operations. This position is responsible for providing nutrition care to patients. This position will provide medical nutrition therapy to all patients according to policy and consultation from interdisciplinary staff.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients.
- Perform and document nutrition assessment, reassessment, and education according to the nutrition care process.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations in managing patient load; works with other RDs to prioritize patient load based on acuity and policy, as well as address any nutrition-related issues that arise.
- Utilize available formulary products and appropriate usage for age-specific patient populations.
- Maintain data into event reporting system as needed to ensure safety and quality of care are addressed.
- Serve as a resource in clinical situations involving nutrition care.
- Serve as an advocate in representation and support of nutrition services and WRMCs initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nutrition program
- Licensure and Certifications: Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR); Licensed dietitian (must be licensed in Arkansas within 90 days of hire)
- Experience: Previous experience in an ESRD clinical nutrition setting, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office setting. This position will be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
