Position Summary
The role of the Food Service Supervisor reports to the Production Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring proper dietary orders are followed, quality meal service is provided to patients and guests, and all regulatory requirements are followed and maintained. This position will act as a liaison between hospital departments to ensure proper production and operations regarding meal service.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Continuously provide training to new and current employees
- Ensure proper storage is available and meets current local, state, and federal food handling guidelines
- Maintain proper inventory in regard to food and supplies
- Check outgoing patient trays to ensure accuracy of order prior to delivery
- Partner with Educator to develop and implement training materials
- Develop and implement cleaning schedule
- Assist with planning of events, special meals, and organizational functions
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED, required.
- Licensure and Certifications: CDM required within 18 months of hire.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a previous patient food service role, required.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
