Position Summary
The role of the Security Officer reports to the Safety and Security Manager. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients
- Promptly respond to codes, alarms, and incidents and complete thorough investigation, including leadership when necessary
- Assist various outside entities such as funeral homes, and all emergency services organizations
- De-escalate situations that arise and maintain and calm and orderly environment
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED, required.
- Licensure and Certifications: Drivers license and auto liability insurance, required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in a security officer role, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend approximately 80% of the time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs and 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population. This position will be exposed to communicable disease and bodily fluids.
