Position Summary
The role of the Sonographer reports to the Imaging Administrative Manager. This position is responsible for performing day-to-day sonography studies on clinic patients.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonographic examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, patient safety protocols, and policies and procedures
- Ensure safety of patients during sonographic examination
- Ensure proper positioning and utilization of scanning techniques and equipment are followed
- Conduct patient clinical assessment including reviewing patient medical history
- Ensure sonographic examination orders are complete and meet standard of medical necessity
Qualifications
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited sonography program
- Licensure and Certifications: ARDMS and CPR, required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in a sonography role, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
