The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) reports to the Employee Health Manager. This position is responsible for working across the areas of employee health, infection control, safety and workers’ compensation, partnering with infection prevention and control, and facilitating onboarding and annual health requirements for employees and non-employees, including students, volunteers, interns, integrated providers, vendors, throughout the Washington Regional Health System.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Responsible for executing proper onboarding procedures following policy and process
- Effectively develop positive working relationships across the System to ensure workflow and process is collaborative and managed appropriately
- Communicate appropriately in a professional manner and thoroughly to those we serve
- Facilitate, complete and retain paperwork and medical records following policy on file management and Employee Health procedures
- Obtain knowledge and skill in workers’ compensation requirements, process, and filings to ensure actively participating in cases to assist employees and claims process, as necessary
- Ongoing education through OSHA, CDC, WR Infection Preventionist department, and various WRMC committees, including Environment of Care Committee (EOC) updates on policies, procedures, requirements and regulatory changes
- Obtain client medical history and immunization records while inputting data collected into various computer systems and on appropriate paperwork to be filed
- Ensure procedure rooms are stocked with appropriate materials and cleaned appropriately after use
- Review and utilize safety protocols, including proper disposal of waste, needles, and understanding of emergency management procedures for department
- Respond timely to messages and inquiries
- Assist front office staff with daily operations
Qualifications
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Licensure and Certifications: Unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse and BLS, required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year clinical nursing experience, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will be exposed to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, and radiation. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
