The role of the Collections & Customer Service Representative reports to the Collection Manager. This position is responsible for completing tasks assigned to the legal collections team.

The role of the Collections & Customer Service Representative reports to the Collection Manager. This position is responsible for completing tasks assigned to the legal collections team.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Review accounts to determine appropriate follow up and closing procedures
- Prepare documents necessary for dissemination of medical liens, bankruptcy claims, probate claims, lawsuits, and garnishments to the proper authorities
- Negotiate payment plans and settlement of accounts with patients, insurance companies and attorneys, and/or all necessary parties
- Maintain records pertaining to court documents filed and monthly collections
- Responsible for new employee orientation
- Perform back-up receptionist or cashier duties as needed
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Licensure and Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Two years’ experience with account collections, telephone negotiations, and legal documentation preparation, required. Previous experience with motor vehicle insurance or health insurance claim processes, preferred.
