Washington Rehab and Nursing Center is looking to hire a Registered Nurse (RN), Weekend Supervisor to lead our incredible weekend team!
We are seeking a highly skilled Weekend Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor to join our growing team of healthcare professionals. Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, supervises the nursing personnel and the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the weekend shifts. Such supervision must be in accordance with accepted professional standards and current federal, state, and local regulations to ensure the highest degree of quality care is always maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the day-to-day functions of all nursing personnel in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
- Ensure that all nursing staff comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
- Supervise nursing personnel during shift including assigning and distributing work, performance management, train new staff, and ensuring work is being performed.
- Make written and oral reports/ recommendations concerning the activities of your shift as required.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
- Complete accident/ incidents reports as necessary.
- Complete all record keeping upon residents' admissions, transfers, and / or discharges into the electronic health record (EHR).
- Chart progress notes and informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to residents as well as the residents' responses to the care.
- Make nursing/aide assignments as indicated.
- Obtains and implements physician orders, checking for accuracy and completeness.
- Communicates between shifts regarding changes in residents conditions
- Plans, implements and evaulates the clinical competencies and on-going education/ orientation needs of the staff.
- Make daily rounds of the Nursing Department to ensure that all nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards. Reports findings to the Director of Nursing.
- Ensure that a sufficent number of nursing staff is available for each shift to ensure that quality care is maintained.
- Report all grievances and complaints to the Director of Nursing.
- Attend and participate in all facility in-service programs as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/ Experience:
- Must possess a current, unencumbered, active state license to practice as a RN
- CPR/ BLS certified
- Minimum 4 nursing experience in a nursing home or other healthcare settings and a minimum 1-year experience as a nurse supervisor.
- Strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.
Supervisory Requirements:
- Supervises the nursing personnel and the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the assigned shifts.
