What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ophthalmology Technician position at Washington Retina, PLLC?
Washington Retina is an established retina-only medical practice. We have four board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeons with over 10 years combined experience serving the South Puget Sound community. The physicians have a strong reputation with patients and referring doctors for providing high quality compassionate and ethical retinal care for patients.
We have experienced rapid growth and are in search of an additional Ophthalmic Technician or Medical Assistant to join our team. We are particulary looking for someone who is excited to be part of an organization at the start that will provide significant room for career growth potential in the future.
Full-time position is available. The physicians and the team members are more than willing to train MAs who have not had significant eye care experience to date.
Qualifications:
Proficiency with computers, typing, and electronic health records
A strong ability to work well as part of a team

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
Demonstrated ability to multitask and maintain attention to a high level of detail
Responsibilities:
Patient history taking
Obtain basic vital signs
Ability or willingness to learn how to perform diagnostic imaging
Ability or willingness to learn basic eye exam workup (Visual acuity testing, Tonometry, Administer eye drops, etc)
Ability or willingness to learn how to triage patient phone calls
Education:
High School Diploma
CMA is beneficial but not necessary
COA is beneficial but not necessary
Experience:
Previous medical setting experience is beneficial but not necessary
Previous eye care experience is beneficial but not necessary
Job Type: Full-time preferred
Pay: From $21.00-$28.00 per hour, depending on experience
