Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Infection Preventionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding the health and safety of our patients, staff, and visitors by implementing effective infection prevention strategies. This position requires a strong understanding of epidemiology, microbiology, and healthcare regulations to ensure compliance with infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct regular surveillance of infection rates and trends within the facility.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to educate staff on infection control practices and protocols.
• Analyze data collection related to infection incidents and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain accurate medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing the risk of infections.
• Provide guidance on best practices for critical care settings, assisted living environments, and occupational health concerns.
• Stay current with advancements in infection prevention and control methodologies.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of anatomy, microbiology, epidemiology, and critical care practices.
• Experience in assisted living or healthcare settings preferred.
• Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA compliance.
• Proficient in data collection methods related to infection surveillance.
• Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate diverse audiences effectively.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting data related to infection trends.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57.31 - $69.02 per hour
