Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct regular surveillance of infection rates and trends within the facility.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to educate staff on infection control practices and protocols.
- Analyze data collection related to infection incidents and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain accurate medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at reducing the risk of infections.
- Provide guidance on best practices for critical care settings, assisted living environments, and occupational health concerns.
- Stay current with advancements in infection prevention and control methodologies.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, microbiology, epidemiology, and critical care practices.
- Experience in assisted living or healthcare settings preferred.
- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA compliance.
- Proficient in data collection methods related to infection surveillance.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate diverse audiences effectively.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting data related to infection trends.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
