This AmeriCorps national service position will serve 40 hours per week in person. Some evenings and weekends may be required. The anticipated service term is February 2025 - August 2025. The Community Education Coordinator will support GRuB's mission by serving as the primary contact for volunteers and host for farm visitors.

  • Have some experience in customer service, farming, gardening, or volunteer coordination.

What you'll be doing –

  • Support volunteer recruitment and onboarding process;.
  • Serve as liaison and support for volunteers on site.
  • Coordinate individual and group visits to the farm for service or education.
  • Provide logistical support for events and special programs on site.

What you'll receive -

  • Monthly stipend of $1,780. (Please note: this position is eligible for our Member Equity Enhanced stipend. Members may receive an enhanced stipend of $2,548 per month if their household's annual gross income is less than or equal to 200% of the federal poverty level based on household size.)
  • Valuable experience in social services, food security, non-profit.
  • An education award of up to $3,697 upon completion of the service term.
  • Access to basic medical insurance, counseling, and career support services.
  • Monthly Food Assistance (if eligible).
  • Workers' compensation coverage.
  • Subsidized childcare provided by GAP Solutions Inc. (if eligible).
  • Student loan support including forbearance and interest accrual payment on qualifying loans and payment of interest on qualifying student loans that accrued during the service term (paid after successful completion of service term).
  • Serving in a full-time AmeriCorps position qualifies as "employment" towards the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.

We are located on a 3-acre neighborhood farm in Olympia, WA. Our headquarters is a "farmhouse" that is also a classroom and community space. The culture of our organization is collaborative, vibrant, and lighthearted. We offer education, veterans, and community garden programming. We welcome many volunteers and visitors to the farm throughout the year. The member will coordinate volunteers and host individuals and group visits to the farm.
