Psychology Affiliate - Behavior Technician
The State Operated Living Alternatives program within the Developmental Disabilities Administration is looking to hire a Behavior Technician to join a tight-knit team of professionals dedicated to supporting people with developmental disabilities. You'll implement psychological, behavioral, and crisis intervention services, and identify barriers to the successful implementation of behavioral strategies. Your creativity and positive attitude will help to ensure that the people we serve have the behavioral support they need to live safely in the community.
The work schedule is Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Evening and Night shifts include a shift differential in addition to the standard compensation rate. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Some Of What You'll Do
- Provide behavioral support services to clients in their homes and to clients in the community
- Collect behavioral data and other relevant data for inclusion in functional behavior assessments of clients with challenging behaviors
- Implement positive interventions and strategies for clients to decrease challenging behaviors and increase pro-social and adaptive functioning
- Identify barriers to the successful transition of participants into a home
- Coordinate with mental health experts and other professionals in providing needed services to clients
- Assist in training Habilitation Specialists on the implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans
- Evaluate the effectiveness of consultation and technical assistance provided through follow-up activities
- A master’s degree in psychology from an accredited school or department of psychology and a minimum of one year of relevant experience in designing and/or implementing comprehensive behavioral therapies for individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behavior;
- A bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field and three years of relevant experience in designing and/or implementing comprehensive behavior therapies for individuals with developmental disabilities and challenging behavior.
- Ability to obtain registration as an Agency Affiliated Counselor or other superseding credential (i.e. LMHC/A, LMFT/A, etc.)
- Knowledge of the principles of positive behavior support, functional assessment, and positive behavior support plan development, implementation, oversight, and evaluation
- Experience in providing behavioral analysis, evaluation, and review of positive behavior supports to people who have developmental disabilities
