DSHS FFA Stationary Engineer 3 - Stationary Engineer Lead - Boiler Operator Lead
We need your leadership skills to perform skilled engineering and repair work related to boiler operations at Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake. As a senior-level specialist, you’ll apply advanced technical knowledge in the overall operation and maintenance of high-pressure heating plants consisting of two or more boilers. The hours for this position are Friday - Tuesday 6:45am - 2:45pm.
Opportunities performed on - site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.
Some Of What You'll Do
Current city of Spokane boiler operator license.
And
Four years of experience in operations and repair of high pressure boilers and heating equipment or one year of experience as a Stationary Engineer 2 in state service.

Some Of What You'll Do
- Lead and oversee the day-to-day workload for the steam plants.
- Responsible for ordering supplies, overseeing repairs and maintenance to all steam plants, boilers and their assorted auxiliary equipment within the plants.
- Ensure that the steam plants are repaired and maintained to meet required operation and regulatory standards.
- Upkeep and implement steam plants preventive and corrective maintenance problems.
- Diagnose operating difficulties and recommend corrective measures.
- Supervise preventative maintenance programs and monitor daily log of activities.
- Ability to lead and train employees in performing skilled steam plant work.
- Plan, layout, and assign work and give clear, concise instructions.
- Take the lead in ensuring that the boiler plants chemical program is being monitored and stays within specification.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with the pressure vessel inspections.
- Complete, prepare reports and correspondence logs.
- Work with all of the boilers safeguard control systems.
